June 20, 1939 - July 26, 2025

ROCKY MOUNT – John F. Brown, age 86, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1939. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Davis Brown.

Johnny and Barbara were married on June 28, 1958. Johnny enjoyed many years sailing on the Pamlico River and in the Bahamas with his family and friends. He had a very good sense of humor and an engaging manner about him. Johnny will be missed by many.

Johnny is survived by his sons, David Wimberly Brown (Tammy) of New Bern and George Carlton Brown (Elaine) of Rocky Mount; and his grandson, George Carlton Brown of Wilmington.

A Private Celebration of Johnny’s Life will be held at a later date.
